Mrs. Vipula Kadri
Founder, STCI
In 1988, Mrs Vipula Kadri founded Save The Children India (STCI), with the vision of making India a child-friendly nation. She strived to achieve a democratic society, from the empowerment of marginalized communities to influencing high-level systemic changes. She led an army of people who believed in her dream and together, they built an ambitious yet grounded organization to chart a path towards their vision.
Her dedication and passion continue to be driving forces and has over the past three decades, enabled the organization to expand its scope and encompass numerous initiatives in the fields of Education, Health, Women Empowerment and Livelihood Development.
1988–1992
Established the Vocational Training Program for young women from urban slums of Mumbai
1993 – 1997
Launched Patang, a remedial education program for students with learning gaps, attending government and community schools
1998 – 2002
Save Our Sisters (SOS) was launched to combat Human Trafficking, scaling its reach to rural areas of Maharashtra
2003 – 2007
The foundation stone was laid for a well-equipped Special Care Centre in Bandra-Kurla Complex. Additionally, a need-based survey led to the launch of Delhi Interventions in the urban village of Sarai Kale Khan in Nizamuddin East
2013 – PRESENT
For the first time, Hearing Impaired Students appeared for the Standard 10 SSC Board Examination and passed with First Class results
